Watercolour – what is it?
Watercolor is considered the supreme discipline in painting. On the one hand, this is because the controllability of color application is more limited compared to other painting techniques, because the color pigments run with the water at random. It is important to counteract this! On the other hand, a watercolor requires a lot of planning beforehand, because after the application of paint the possibilities for touching up are also more limited.
Portfolio and technique
My focus is on naturalistic, sometimes photorealistic watercolour paintings of flowers – sometimes with a hint of romance. My technique is controlled, similar to botanical watercolor painting. The pictures are very color intensive, which I achieve by several layers with high quality colours (Schmincke Horadam).
I also create detailed portraits, as pencil drawings or watercolours.
What I offer
You are welcome to view my works in the online gallery or by appointment on site in my studio. All works – unless otherwise noted – are for sale. By arrangement I also produce commissioned works (e.g. portraits). I would be happy to teach you personally by appointment and give you the opportunity to get to know my technique and to create your own picture.
